The
workshop program was divided in two sessions.
The
first half session aimed to provide an overview of MEMS technology,
including prospects and limitations for aircraft, space and defense
applications.
The
second half session dealt with the issues and challenges related to
the design, simulation, analysis and fabrication of various MEMS devices,
and necessary facilities and resources available for Canadian aerospace
R&D and industry community.
Finally,
the workshop participants (a) discussed and devised a strategy for development,
implementation and advancement of MEMS technology for aerospace applications
in Canada, (b) identifed the necessary and available resources in Canada,
and (c) prepared a plan for the proposed Canada-EU forum and collaboration
in the related areas.
