To provide the Canadian aerospace R&D and industrial community involved in the aircraft, spacecraft and defense sectors with:

• The current perspectives including potentials and limitations of MEMS technologies for their pertinent corresponding applications;
• Identify potential applications of the MEMS based devices and systems using relevant experiences / projects from Canada, the US, and Europe; ·
• Identify and learn the need, requirements and expectations of the aircraft, space and defense organizations in Canada and elsewhere from these technologies considering the near-term and long-term scenario's;
• What are the technological challenges and issues related to the design, simulation and fabrication of MEMS based devices and systems for the three concerned sectors; and
